Brisbane Professional Institute (BPI) is committed to protecting the privacy of our students, staff, and partners. This policy outlines our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we are also governed by the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011, which mandates specific data reporting requirements.

Under the Student Identifiers Act 2014, BPI cannot issue a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment unless you have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
If you authorise BPI to apply for a USI on your behalf, we will disclose your personal information to the Student Identifiers Registrar. Your USI data is protected by the same Australian Privacy Principles outlined in this policy.
We are required by law to disclose your personal information to the National VET Data Collection managed by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER). This data is used for:

BPI employs industry-standard security measures, including encrypted Student Management Systems (SMS) and restricted physical access to student files. In accordance with RTO standards, we retain your records for a minimum of 30 years to ensure you can request copies of your qualifications in the future.
You have the right to access the personal information BPI holds about you and request corrections if the data is inaccurate.
